In 1989 I got tired of playing covers and decided to try my hand at doing originals again. Never being much of a lyricist myself, Kathie as a poet took on the writing portion. Started out trying to do multi track taping with multiple cassette decks and a reel to reel machine. This was problematic to say the least. So I bought my self a Tascam ministudio (4 + 2 Track) and started over. This turned out to be as time consuming but much more satisfying. The resulting output was never meant to be more than demo's to use in the hope of putting together a band with -hopefully- other original minded players. Sadly this was not to be, at least not in the full sense. Stu and I collaborated for a while and some of that effort is presented here. Other folks were supportive but weren't much interested in the studio process, so the majority of these tunes were recorded by myself. Hey! that's OK I had fun. Stu and I actually did a number of these tunes live, the highlight of which was opening for Jorma Kaukonen at a small private show in '93. I have video of this and have put it up as well.

Digging through the tapes I came across the only live versions of some of the McSpirit stuff from when Stu and I were working together after his return to Co. There are 2 tunes I never did the studio treatment with and was glad to find them. I'm pretty sure they're from a Mariapalooza in '92 or '93 at her first house in Golden.
